IMAG0750_1   My first amigurumi! Using my yarn scraps and this Lion Brand ‘Amigurumi Holiday Penguin’ pattern, I wanted to give this away, but fell in love with it and Mr. Penguin has now joined my Christmas holiday decoration collection.

Crocheted with the discontinued TLC Cotton Plus Yarn in Multi, this cute tunic vest is light and beautiful over an ivory blouse. Pattern wasn’t too hard either, from the January 2014 of Crochet Today! magazine, called ‘Flurries Tunic’ by Dora Ohrenstein. Another addition to my wardrobe!

This is my first time crocheting a curtain or a valance. I love the look of the pattern showing through the light on my window and door. Using Herrschner’s Afghan yarn and a pattern called ‘Saguaro Valance’ by Cindy Adams from Crochet! Magazine (Spring 2012), these have added a lovely touch to my new home.

CardiPurple Comfy Cardi

Crocheted with Rowan Super Fine Merino DK in Claret, this lovely ‘Comfy Cardi’ is from the Crochet Me: Designs to Fuel the Crochet Revolution by Kim Werker. Paired with a Shawl Pin, instead of a button and not using the ribbing edging were my choices to add some glamour. Hope you like it!                                                                                                                                                                                                    debbwin #104

Here are photos from the Village Tag Sale, September 2015. I sold over $100 in handmade crochet! It was so much fun meeting new people and those who loved my work. Thank you!                                                                                                                                                                                  debbwin #103

I spent this past winter looking for and crocheting all sorts of cowls. I was obsessed! Here are some of my favorite ones:
On the left is ‘Bulky Striped Cowl’
by Lorene Haythorn Eppolite from Cre8tion Crochet , made in 3 colors of Baby Alpaca from Cedar Lane Alpaca Farm in Howell, NJ & an I-Hook – so so so soft & warm.

On the right is ‘SC Cowl’

by NADYATO found here. Crocheted in Red Heart’s Unforgettable Yarn in Cappuccino. Love these “tube” cowls!

At the top is the ‘Alicia Cowl’

by CrochetDreamz using Paton’s Wool Blend Varigated Yarn, an N-Hook & 3 light wood buttons.

Second is ‘One Skein Bumpy Cowl’

by Karen S. Vaughn using Rose Mist by Vanna White (Lion Brand Yarn) and a K-Hook.

Third is ‘1 Skein Crochet Infinity Scarf’

by Julie from julieslifestyle.blogspot.com using a K-Hook and Willow Yarns’ Dappled in color Fractal.

Here on top is ‘Pavement Infinity Scarf’

by Jennifer Dickerson in South West Trading Company’s Saphira Yarn (100% Superwash Merino Wool) in #582 and an N-Hook. A nice Christmas present for my daughter-in-law Donna!

Bottom one is this pattern here called
‘Amazing 45 Minute Cowl’

by Lion Brand. I used 2 strands of 2 different yarns by Willow YarnsPrairie in Red Maple and Daily in Sunspot with a Q-Hook. Chunky & Warmy.

This beautiful one is called

‘Artfully Simple Infinity Scarf

from the Moogly Blog and was created with 2 strands of Willow Yarns’ Dappled in Violets, a K-Hook and cute little plastic button I had in my button box. Love love love this. 🙂

Thank you to all these wonderful Cowl Designers!

Moogly Blog is my new favorite blog for great Crochet Patterns including this very cool ‘Moroccon Market Tote‘ which introduced me to some new techniques: The Chainless Starting Double Crochet (CSDC) and Standing Double Crochet (SDC). These new stitches are now apart of my crochet repetoire, and I can’t go back to the starting Chain 3 to start a Row of Double Crochet! I used Herrschners 2-Ply Afghan Yarn for the Body of the Tote and Caron Yarn’s Simply Soft Yarn for the bottom and the handles. Thank you Moogly!                    Moroccan-Market-Tote-Cover

I just discovered a new Yarn Company – Willow Yarns! Using Dappled in color Fractal, I crocheted up this hat using one of their Easy Patterns called ‘Alysa Hat‘. Using 2 strands of yarn, this hat stitched up in no time and the varigation of the yarn colors is outstanding. Highly recommended Yarn and Pattern. A+

I bought this 14″ Doll for $5.00 at the local Dollar General Store. All she needed was a new dress so I found this free pattern on myrecycledbags.com and voila! Dolly is now all dressed up and pretty. Thanks, Cindy! I used left-over rolls of Sirdar’s Baby Bamboo Yarn in Cream and Babe with a G-Hook. I then weaved a lavendar skinny ribbon through the loops of the bodice for a  finished look. Think my grandaughter will like it?
